Community Lift-Sharing Platform
FindALiftClub connects private individuals for informal lift-sharing arrangements. We do not provide transport services, facilitate payments, or verify users. All arrangements and safety verification are between users.

For Lift Offers (Drivers):
- Full name

- WhatsApp number (optional)
- Route details (pickup and destination locations)
- Schedule and timing preferences
- Number of available seats
- Suggested cost contributions and cost-sharing preferences
- Vehicle preferences and rules
- Any additional preferences or requirements
For Lift Requests (Passengers):
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address
- WhatsApp number (optional)
- Required travel dates and times
- Number of seats needed
- Cost contribution range
- Any special requirements or preferences
Note: Safety Reports are hosted in our public Facebook group. Report content and any personal information shared there are processed under Facebook's terms and privacy policy. We may process information you email to us regarding disputes or moderation.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, device type
- Usage Data: Pages visited, search queries, interaction with platform features
- Technical Data: Session information, error logs, performance data
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Payment information (contribution arrangements are made directly between users off-platform)
- Precise location tracking during rides
- Audio or video recordings
- Social media account information (unless voluntarily provided)
Platform Functionality:
- Display your lift offers and requests to other users
- Enable matching between drivers and passengers
- Facilitate communication through displayed contact details
- Send confirmation emails with management links
- Provide search and filtering capabilities
Safety and Community Features:
- Enable safety reports for community protection
- Enable due diligence searches
- Investigate reported safety concerns when necessary
Platform Management:
- Provide user support
- Improve platform features and user experience
- Ensure platform security and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
Under POPIA, we process your personal information based on:
- Consent: You provide explicit consent when creating offers, requests and submitting information
- Legitimate Interests: Platform functionality, safety, and community protection
- Legal Compliance: Fulfilling legal obligations under South African law
4.1 Public Display on Platform
Visible to All Users:
- Driver offers: Name, Gender, Driver photo, route, schedule, seats available, price per seat, payment schedule, contact details, preferences
- Passenger requests: Name, Gender, Passenger Photo, route, timing, seats needed, budget, contact details, requirements
- Safety Reports: Not hosted on our Platform. Safety reporting is handled in our public Facebook group and is subject to Facebook’s terms and privacy policy.
4.2 Information We Do NOT Share
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- We do not share information with advertisers or marketing companies
- We do not provide bulk data exports to external parties

We may disclose information when required by law or to:

Important Security Disclaimer: However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.
6.1 Retention Periods
- Active Offers/Requests: Automatically expire and are deleted 60 days after creation
- Deleted Offers/Requests: Permanently removed when user deletes or upon automatic expiration
- Safety Reports: Hosted in our public Facebook group and governed by Facebook’s retention and moderation policies. We do not control Facebook’s retention. We may retain dispute-related emails you send us as long as necessary to resolve the matter.
- Management Tokens: Valid for the lifetime of the offer/request until deletion
